A dental filling is a procedure to restore tooth structure.
Who needs fillings?
Fillings are usually needed in teeth that have dental caries (decay).
Sometimes people need fillings to help replace chipped teeth, or for esthetic purposes.
Do you use metal (amalgam) fillings?
Amalgam, or metal filling, is a type of filling material.
However, at our office we use tooth-colored fillings which many patients appreciate!
